Ship Tour Update

Seattle Ship Tours Recap: Celebrity Edge and Sun Princess
This past weekend, I had the delightful opportunity to tour two magnificent ships in Seattle: the Celebrity Edge and the Sun Princess. Both vessels offered unique experiences that truly showcased the best of cruising.
The Celebrity Edge
The Celebrity Edge stands out with its luxurious offerings, particularly The Retreat. This exclusive area is in a class of its own, providing an unparalleled level of service and comfort. From the moment you step into The Retreat, you are enveloped in elegance and sophistication. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring that every need was met with a warm smile. The culinary experience on board was nothing short of spectacular. The food was absolutely amazing, showcasing a variety of flavors and exquisite presentations. The crew on the Celebrity Edge was not only professional but also genuinely passionate about providing an exceptional experience.
The Sun Princess
On the other hand, the Sun Princess offers its own unique charm with their suites and The Sanctuary. This serene space truly lives up to its name, providing a peaceful escape for those looking to unwind. The ambiance was calming, and the service was impeccable, making it a perfect retreat for relaxation. The food on the Sun Princess was equally impressive, with a range of dining options that catered to all tastes. The crew here also excelled in hospitality, making sure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of.
Celebrity Edge vs Sun Princess - I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite as they are two completely different vibes. The Edge comes across as luxury (not ultra, but REALLY good) but not pretentious in the least; while Sun Princess seemed like a great fit for families and multi-gen groups. Food overall was somewhat comparable; however the Celebrity Edge just had a much better presence. In the buffet area Celebrity presented a much more elevated experience with the high ceilings, open spaces and high end, aesthetically placed food stations, while Sun Princess was a bit disappointing with the extremely low and confining ceilings (especially for that space) and I wasn't a fan of the presentation of the food. Long single lines of lower end display cases just didn't do it for me. Sun Princess came out ahead with the children's areas - not that I'm in the market for the amenity but it was a standout, for sure. Overall, my personal choice would be the Celebrity Edge - but that's not to say I won't also endorse Sun Princess with some of my select clients.
